Jean-Marc is a versatile Bristol-based composer and producer, whose range of original works spans across music albums, short films, feature films, documentaries and children’s series. He has scored films for major broadcasters including the BBC, Channel 4, Disney, PBS, UKTV, National Geographic International, and Discovery International.

 

TV documentary highlights include the BBC’s documentary ’Pangolins: World’s Most Wanted Animal’ winner of Best Wildlife Documentary at RTS West awards and narrated by Sir David Attenborough; a 10-part series for BBC/UKTV ‘Expeditions with Steve Backshall’; and 3-part BBC ONE series ‘Nature’s Epic Journeys’ with Liz Bonnin; and ’Snow Wolf Family and Me’ with Gordon Buchanan for BBC TWO.

 

Children’s TV highlights include 3 seasons of ‘Nina Needs To Go’ series for DISNEY JUNIOR; a 25-part Cbeebies series for BBC ‘Spot Bots’.

 

His graduation film, Until The River Runs Red, won a BAFTA for Best Short Film.

 

Jean-Marc is of French and Greek descent, but spent his childhood growing up in a few different places - Dubai, Oman, Botswana, and Cyprus. His interest in writing music started from a young age, first composing and performing his pieces on the piano, then later experimenting with tape decks and synthesisers and DAWs to create big arrangements for his early compositions. 

 

He moved to the UK to study Music and Creative Music Technology in Cambridge where he developed an interest in sound design and writing music to picture, then gained a Masters degree in Composing for Film and Television at the National Film and Television School. He has a broad spectrum of musical influences to draw upon that enables him to work with a variety of styles and methods including anything from large orchestral scores to studio-based electronic productions.
